Many dog lovers hate it. It&#8217;s been called sketchy, dystopian, horrifying, and so on. But it&#8217;s not all bad. I&#8217;ve never had any trouble with people living in them. Better than nothing, but it could use improvements, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lighting at night so it can be used more safely after 4pm (in winter)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change the fences to avoid pinch points so we can play fetch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some dogs feet are hurt by the surface. As you may know, deciBel&#8217;s are a logarithmic scale, so this means that the colonnade is 10x louder than somewhere down the street a bit away from the highway. I&#8217;m not sure what the intent of this was. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/@47.6348786,-122.3236554,3a,75y,162.62h,89.96t\/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sR6yJfx6Rvs3_7rCAjsCCvw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?entry=ttu\">You can street view the park a bit here for more perspective.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Related dog park study<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The city <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattle.gov\/parks\/about-us\/plans-and-reports\/recreation-plans-and-reports\/off-leash-area-study\">recently ruled out other<\/a> nearby and vastly more popular but unsanctioned parks for consideration in a dog park expansion study, partially because of proximity to this park under I-5. Many dog lovers are frustrated by this because this colonnade park does not feel safe or usable to them.
